What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep, so it can recognise you on a later visit. They are useful for keeping you logged in or holding a shopping basket. They are also the standard way advertisers follow people between sites, which is why the law treats them carefully.

What this site uses

Nothing. To be specific, this website has:

• No cookies of any kind, including essential ones, because nothing here needs to remember you.
• No analytics. We do not run Google Analytics or any alternative on this site.
• No advertising or remarketing pixels from Meta, Google or anyone else.
• No embedded videos, maps, chat widgets or social feeds, which are the usual way third-party cookies arrive uninvited.
• No web fonts fetched from a third party. Fonts are served from our own domain, so reading this page tells no one else that you did.

What still gets recorded

Server logs are not cookies, but you deserve to know they exist. Our hosting and network providers automatically log requests, including IP addresses, to keep the site online and to block attacks. Those logs are kept briefly and are not used to profile visitors or to advertise to them.

Controlling cookies generally

You have nothing to switch off here, but every major browser lets you block or delete cookies for the rest of the web from its privacy settings. Blocking them on sites that rely on cookies to log you in will stop those sites working properly.

If this changes

We build sites with analytics for clients, and we may want it here one day. If we do, we will update this page first, and where UK law requires consent we will ask for it properly with a real choice to decline, rather than a banner where the only button is agreement.
